The Apocalypse Ride
The new portion/changed portion of the LI route is marked with <>^ arrows and
a small A in the middle for Apocalypse. Once back on the LI route for the last
1/3 the arrows are the old LI arrows. All markings are in white.
Wednesday Night Apocalypse Ride
Time: 6:30 p. m. Every Wednesday Night April-October
Place: Parking lot in front of Boneshakers Bicycle shop at the corner of
Macedonia & New Macland Rd.
Directions: Take East-West Connector towards Kennesaw. Cross over Powder Springs
Rd. Take left at next light onto Macedonia Rd. Go 2-3 miles to CVS turn right
into main parking lot of Dollar General.)
Distance: 30 miles with shorter options.
Grade/Degree: Rolling with steady climbs.
Sprints: All sprints are county signs; KOM is Douglasville sign on Stout Pkwy,
rest of sprints are signs. Final GC sprint is the 35 mph speed limit sign on old
Hwy 278 just past the new post office.
The course is marked with WHITE ARROWS and the new portion is labeled with <>^
and an A for Apocalypse. Advice and tips for beginners will be available before
the ride. All beginners welcome! However, please note that this is a “race
simulated” ride. Come out and practice, learn, and train to be able to keep up
and run the Gauntlet with our lead group by the end of the season.
