European composite team racing in the TdG-Prodir-Saunier Duval-Saeco. American star Tim Johnson is part of the team. Tim was quoted as saying "I can't wait for Georgia. It will be so much fun. SC Heritage Series Greenville, SC- The top professional cycling teams on the American race
calendar are scheduled to participate in the second annual South Carolina Heritage Cycling Series, to be held on April 28, 2004 in Walterboro, SC and April 29, 2004 in Greenwood, SC. Among the athletes to compete during the South Carolina series will be Olympic gold medalist Marty Nothstein of the Navigators squad, joined by his teammate, Australian Olympian and winner of the 2002 Pro Cycling Tour Henk Vogels. The Navigators Cycling Team is one of the most successful and well-respected teams in the field. Another Navigators strong-man Viktor Rapinski will join teammates Nothstein and Vogels for the exciting, fast-paced action. "We are really excited about bringing the Navigators Cycling Team to South Carolina to launch our national criterium campaign," says Ed Beamon, director sportif of Navigators. "South Carolina has provided incredible events and audiences in the past, and the 'Southern hospitality' and beautiful countryside are a bonus to the exciting racing we expect. The Navigators team won two stages during last year's Heritage Series, including the stage in Walterboro. We'll be looking for a repeat performance this year." Vogels will be trying to repeat last year's results where he won a race during the inaugural 2003 SC Heritage Cycling Series. With a strong team behind him, he may be tough to beat this year. Other top teams aiming for victory, and their share of the $20,000 total purse up for grabs in this year's Series will be HealthNet, Jelly Belly, TIAA-Cref, Jittery Joe's and South Carolina's very own Hincapie Sportswear-Bianchi. The 2004 Heritage Series is comprised of two Criteriums that will wind through the downtowns of Walterboro and Greenwood. A Criterium is defined as a multi-lap race on a closed course, typically less than one mile long. This uniquely American bicycle racing discipline has bred a special type of cyclist - one who must demonstrate superior top speed and bike handling skills - and has been referred to as "America's contribution to bicycle racing." Each 50 mile race will feature over 100 professional and top amateur cyclists from around the world in some exciting, fast-paced action. Spectators can expect to see a field peppered with Olympians, Commonwealth Games participants and World title contenders from the United States, Canada, Mexico, Guatemala, Australia and New Zealand." TdG-Alpharetta  ALPHARTETTA, Ga. (April 9, 2004) – Alpharetta has the distinction of being the best place to watch Lance Armstrong, Bobby Julich, George Hincapie, Jens Voigt, Chris Horner, Jacky Durand and 114 more of the nation's and world's best professional cyclists in this year's Dodge Tour de Georgia. With a route that takes the riders through four finishing circuits along city streets, spectators in Alpharetta will be able to see the cyclists up close several times. With close to 50,000 fans expected in and around Alpharetta for the Grand Finale of the six-day, 648-mile bicycle race, the City of Alpharetta and the Alpharetta Convention and Visitors Bureau have worked together to provide information to help visitors get the most enjoyment from attending the race. The route for the final stage on Sunday, April 25 takes the riders from Dawsonville to Alpharetta. Once in Alpharetta, the cyclists will race four circuit laps of 3.85 miles along Lakeview Parkway, Morrison Parkway, Westside Parkway and Haynes Bridge roads before finishing on Morrison Parkway, south of Haynes Bridge. City officials have designated two areas along the route, in addition to the finish line, for the best viewing opportunities for spectators. To see the final Sprint Line of the Dodge Tour de Georgia, spectators should watch the race in historic downtown Alpharetta at Jones Street near City Hall, one half a mile north of the finish area. The peloton is expected to reach this area as early as 3:30 p.m. Spectators can enjoy seeing the peloton race by as many as eight times along the circuit course on Morrison Parkway, making a u-turn at Sanctuary Park, where they will go out and back on a closed loop to the finish area. The peloton should reach the intersection of Maxwell Road and Westside Parkway between 3:35 and 4:00 p.m. Spectators can access this area by walking across Center Bridge Road, which is south of North Point Mall off North Point Parkway. This is the best place to spread a blanket for a picnic and enjoy the race. From there, you can walk to the finish line. As a result of the finishing route, there will be several road closings on April 25. Starting at 5:00 a.m., Morrison Parkway and Westside Parkway will be closed from Haynes Bridge Road to Lakeview Parkway. At 12:00 p.m., the entire circuit of Morrison Parkway and Westside Parkway to Sanctuary Parkway and Lakeview Parkway will be closed, except for the Haynes Bridge Road section. At 2:00 p.m., the southbound ramps to and from SR400 at Haynes Bridge Road will be closed. The northbound entrance ramp will remain open and the exit ramp will be limited to eastbound traffic towards the mall only. At 2:30 p.m. Haynes Bridge Road will be reduced to two-way traffic in the westbound lanes only. All roads will reopen at approximately 8:00 p.m.

Beginning at approximately 3:00 p.m., spectators should expect lengthy delays along State Route 9 in Alpharetta. State Route 9 (North and South Main streets) will be closed up to one hour to allow for the professional cyclists and race caravan to pass safely. This will affect the area on State Route 9 at the north city limits (Webb Road) and continuing until Maxwell Road. All access to SR 9 in this area will be blocked to motorists, including side streets, driveways and business access approximately 10 minutes before the cyclists arrive and from 30 minutes to one hour after the racers pass. Motorists are asked to plan ahead with alternate routes. Parking in front of businesses along North and South Main streets will not be permitted the day of the race.

MARTA will offer bus shuttle service from the Park And Ride lots at Mansell Road and Windward Parkway. Shuttles will begin around 1:00 p.m. and continue for approximately two hours after the race. All race viewing is free and spectators are encouraged to bring folding chairs and blankets. Part of the "Grand Finale" activities will include the awards ceremony at the conclusion of the race, to be held at approximately 4:30pm. Winners of Stage 7 will receive recognition, as well as overall winners for Best Young Rider, King of the Mountain, Sprint Leader, Best Team and the Dodge Overall G.C. (general classification) Winner.

4-13-2004 New MTB trails in Cobb County? In an article at Cobb Communications about a new park Cobb County will be leasing near Lake Allatoona, mountain bike trails are mentioned as one of the new recreational opportunities. Horseback riding and walking trails were also mentioned. Does anyone know anything about this? The land appears to be near Blanket's Creek. No names are mentioned as to who owns the property. -Cobb Communications

4-13-2004 Velodrome News "The month of March has brought several major developments for the East Point Velodrome Association. Our efforts to secure donors and sponsors for the EPVA are starting to bear fruit, and the EPVA is now announcing two major fundraising efforts for May. Here are the latest developments: The Velodrome Angel, Part II: The Atlanta Angel With our first major announcement, the EPVA is excited to report that in the tradition of the "Northbrook Angel," a local "Velodrome Angel" has stepped forward and committed to match all donations (up to $50,000 total) that the EPVA receives from March 23rd on. This means that the EPVA is now only $75,000 away from commencing repairs to the facility. NOW is the time to donate, as your donation will be matched dollar for dollar. Help us relieve the "Atlanta Angel" of some cash, and donate today at the EPVA website: www.dicklanevelodrome.com Simply click on the "Make a Donation" button at the bottom of the on the EPVA website. Many other cycling related items, from the usual to the unusual (and there will be some unusual items, for certain!) will be sold to the highest bidder. How it works: 1.Make a donation. We will accept any cycling-related equipment, new or used, modern or vintage (bikes, frames, components, memorabilia). If you own a bike shop, are there things in the back room that could help the cause? We'll pick up donations and credit your business in the velodrome's next printed racing program. 2.Watch for the auction on eBay, and bid on the things you can't resist. Items already collected for sale include bike frames, vintage components, and pro-autographed memorabilia (including autographed team jerseys and a sportsman-of-the-year copy of SI autographed by Lance Armstrong. 3.Two donor prizes will be awarded after the auction: for the item bringing the highest price at auction; and for the wierdest item donated (must sell for at least $80; decision of EPVA judges is final). Each prizewinner gets their name on a section of the fence around the track. 4.All donations are tax-deductible. EPVA is an all-volunteer 501c3 nonprofit organization.

Team Rosters The teams are starting to release their rosters for the TdG. From Velonews.com:
"American Bobby Julich (CSC) will have the support of a strong team next week for the Dodge Tour of Georgia. Julich, fresh off his first victory since 1997 at the final time trial stage at the Tour of the Basque Country, is motivated to have a strong race in front of the home crowd. Team CSC -- already winners this spring of the Tour Mediterranean, Paris-Nice and Criterium International -- will be supporting Julich as he races in the United States for the first time since 1996. Team CSC for Dodge Tour of Georgia: Bobby Julich, Thomas Bruun Eriksen, Bekim Christensen, Jimmi Madsen, Jakob Piil, Max Sciandri, Brian Vandborg, Jens Voigt."

Sprint City, Here We Come! The Lion King is Coming to America!  Cipo's coming to Georgia! And Domina Vacanze is bringing The Train! Can it possibly get any better than this? Magnifico!  Domina Vacanze line-up for TdG: Dave Clinger, Alessio Galletti, Giovanni Lombardi (Cipo's Leadout man),

Brasstown Bald Shuttles" The Tour De Georgia will be running shuttles to Brasstown Bald.  The mountain will be closed to all traffic at the bottom. Here are the details (lifted from a bulletin board post) "The
shuttles will be free of charge. Spectators are encouraged to SHOW UP EARLY! (The stage is estimated to finish between 2:30 p.m. to 3:20 p.m.....I've received a bit more information on the shuttle service. The actual climb up the mountain is called the "180 Spur." As one might assume, it's a spur off of Hwy. 180. Spectators are to park along Hwy. 180 as near to the Spur as possible. Apparently there's some sort of shooting range along 180 that has open fields that will also be available for parking. The shuttles will travel along 180 and to the shooting range to pick people up. Shuttles will take people up the mountain starting as early as 8:00 a.m. The service will take people back down through 6:00 p.m."

Trish's Predictions My prediction is that it is going to come down to CSC, Postal, and Chris Horner
(I mean Webcor). Watch for Julich, Armstrong, Grajeles (Jittery Joes), and Horner to battle it out for the overall.

SE Cycling Coverage of TdG Southeastern Cycling will be covering the Tour De Georgia from the press box a few days and from the Casati (my bike) for the mountain stages. Remember that my coverage will be delayed. My focus this year will be on photos because of limited media access to most of the athletes. (MANY more restrictions than last year's free for all!) I hope to have some photos most night thanks to the new digital camera.

Buckhead Bellyache Gets Blessing After some harsh words from some parishioners at St. Phillips Cathedral last week about parking in their lot, we officially have the church administrator's "Blessing" to park in the lot. Don Dutson, Jr., of Atlanta Cycling, talked to the church administrator this week. The only reason it was a problem last week was because some people parked close to the church, and it was Easter week. There was a special service Thursday evening. The church has invited cyclists to park in their lot on Thursdays for the Buckhead Bellyache. They are even going to mention it in their weekly bulletin. In exchange, they ask for two things. Please don't go heed the call of nature in the woods. Feel free to use the bathrooms inside the church (go through the double doors by the parking lot. They are on the right by the water fountain) or in the Lenox House. Also, please make sure your towel is of sufficient size as not to, errr, let is all hang out as you change; change in your car if needed. Please be respectful, this is a church.

4-19-2004 Shelby Stage Race Cancelled From the GCC website: "This year's stage race (May 15-16) had to be cancelled due to many factors, most of which were beyond our control. While this may seem unfortunate, I think that it will allow us to reallocate those resources we required to put on the Stage Race. We are currently looking at venues for another race and possibly more than one race. Some of you know that this is the first and most difficult of the many obstacles that must be overcome to put on a bicycle race. We appreciate the support that the membership provides at our current races and we can always use more. As we get farther along this process we will be posting more updates on the web, so keep checking for more details. Thanks for your patience, Paul Theriot"

Postal Sighting! From the Central Georgia Cyclist mailing list: "**** and I saw a US Postal team van at the intersection of Arkwright and Riverside. It was turning left onto Riverside as we were turning right onto
Arkwright. Since I was driving our *******convertible with the top down (and The ****** bumpersticker on the bumper), we both waved and shouted "Go, Lance" or other suitable geeky phrases. The driver looked blase. Guess he's used to that sort of thing. More likely, he didn't hear us."

TdG Info. I've been asked by a lot of people where to go for Tour De Georgia information. See the official website at www.tourdegeorgia.com. By clicking The Race and then Interactive Map, you can get route maps of all the stages. Viewing tips are also included for each state. Sorry guys, I don't have the time or space to repost everything on their page. Also, SE Cycling cannot respond to all requests for TdG info. such as where the best place to view a stage is. Please see the TdG website. Thanks!

I also did this....anyone who knows me knows where my heart really lies....(thanks to my best friend and her SO)...ever ridden a roping horse in an English saddle?? He's doing a nice job pretending he's a hunter in this photo.

TdG Photos Adrienne Schmidt of Atlanta sent me these fantastic photos from the Macon Stage. Ladies....here's the Lion King and Lance!

TdG Southeastern Cycling is off to the Tour De Georgia tomorrow. I will have periodic updates throughout the weekend. (don't call...my roommate doesn't update the site at all!)--Trish (woo hoo!!)

Bean Team Updates Micah Rice, DS of the Bean Team, is doing updates over at www.thebeanteam.com.

More Bean Team Jed Schneider is doing daily updates at www.jedschneider.net. Jed is well known to the Atlanta cycling community for his winning ways in cyclocross.

4-23-2004 TdG The Tour De Georgia was fantastic! For complete race coverage, see your favorite news site like cyclingnews.com or velonews.com. I'll have photos and stories soon. One note of local interest, Under 23 rider Craig Lewis from Greenville, SC was transported to the hospital after he was hit by a car that got onto the course. Late word from a source had him suffering from a collapsed lungs, broken ribs, and a concussion. SE Cycling wishes Craig the best and a speedy recovery.

Jens Voight (CSC), Lance Armstrong, and Chris Horner (Webcor) were the top three riders in Thursday's TT in Rome.

4-24-2004 99x Bashes Cyclists I've been busy with the Tour De Georgia, so I just now heard about this. A local rider heard that 99x was bashing cyclists this morning and pulling the same crap that Clear Channel stations have pulled in the past talking about wanting to run cyclists off the road and run them over (99X is NOT a Clear Channel station).

They stated that "They (cyclists) belong on the sidewalk" & "They are a hazard" Please let your voice be heard as motorists are listening to this and e-mail 99x management and let them know we are a safe non po1luting form of transportation and not some bug to be squashed by their SUV's. Please write them at: 99X, 780 Johnson Ferry Road, Fifth Floor, Atlanta, GA 30342 Main Phone: 404-497-4700, Request Line: 404-741-0997, Fax: 404-497-4735.

Ironically, 99X is going to be at the final stage of Tour de Georgia Sunday: From their website: Sunday, April 25 Steve Craig @ Tour De Georgia (Lakeview Pkwy & Morrison Pkwy): Join Steve Craig this Sunday Noon-3p for the grand FINALE of the Dodge Tour De Georgia. You can see 120 cyclists, including Lance Armstrong, finish this 6 day 653 mile race that supports the Georgia Cancer Coalition. Steve will be hanging out with the 99X crew at the corner of Lakeview Pkwy and Morrison Pkwy in the Met Life Parking Lot from Noon-3p. See ya there.

--Thanks to Daniel and Fisher for most of the information.

Postal Pulls Sponsorship At today's post stage 5 press conference, US Postal team leader Lance Armstrong confirmed that the US Postal Service will not renew sponsorship of the team for 2005. The US Postal Service has been sponsoring the team for 9 years. In that time, Armstrong has won 5 Tour De France's, and Roberto Heras has won the Vuelta D'Espana once. Armstrong also had some compliments about domestic racing saying that "Domestic riders are very strong," and that the "level (of racing) is very high here." He thought Friday's stage was hard although the climbs were not bad. The undulating terrain and the fact that "it was never flat" caught many European riders off guard.

There were hundreds of Atlanta riders out today. I saw many teams on top of Woody Gap for the first WG KOM sprint. I'll have pictures and other reports up soon. I haven't been getting back until late, so I haven't had a chance to post them.

You have to look at this cyclingnews.com photo.  Allez, Ya'll!!

Cycleworks Rider Brian Bell is all smiles at the top of Woody Gap at the TdG Sunday

4-25-2004 Cesar Takes Brasstown Bald  Cesar Grajales, Jittery Joe's Colombian climber, took stage 6 of the Tour De Georgia today atop Brasstown Bald. Long known as one of the toughest climbs in the Southeast, Brasstown hosted the finish for today's 120 mile race. Cesar attacked Lance Armstrong and Jens Voight (CSC) on the lower slopes of the climb. He finished with a 17 second lead over the two chasers. What a great finish for our Georgia's Professional Team!

Cesar Grajales (Jittery Joes) wins Stage 6

Atlanta Presenter Brian Bell (Cycleworks) presented the flowers to today's third place rider for the Stage. None other than Lance Armstrong! (photo coming soon--it was taken w/my SLR.)

More Photos Guys and Gals...I have over 300 photos so far of the race. I plan to have them up by the middle of next week. For now, I'm tired and need to sleep. Look for Trish and Chris from Southeastern Cycling in Alpharetta tomorrow. Come say hi! If anyone has a VIP pass, I'd love one!!

4-25-2004 More Photos I have over 450 photos now to go through and get up. I'm planning to do most of that Monday night. Look for them on Tuesday (the best 75-100 probably). For now, head over to cyclingnews.com to see some of the best ones that I took of Stage 6 and Stage 7.

Mavic Car Ride I have to say a big thank you to Scott! He hooked me up with a ride in the Mavic neutral support car today. Scott is one of the uber-cool, hardworking mechanics that support the peloton at large races with Mavic. Look for a feature on it later this week. I have to sleep now.

99X More on 99x. Several cyclists have written to 99x in response to their bit on Friday encouraging drivers to run over cyclists. The responses from station management have been blase'. Keep baraging them with email! Cyclists in Atlanta deserve an apology, a retraction, and public service announcements encouraging drivers to share the road.

Twilight Winners Brice Jones (Healthnet) and another rider lapped the field in the Pro/1/2 men's race in Athens on Saturday night. Tina Mayolo-Pic (Genesis) won the Pro/1/2/3 women's race in a field sprint. Only about 20 of the 70 riders that started the women's race finished. (Sorry, no other details as I did not attend Twlight. If anyone has anything else, please email me.)

4-27-2004 Trek 5900 Stolen at the Silver Comet A Trek 5900 was stolen from the Seaboard Ave. Silver Comet Trailhead in Hiram, GA on Sunday afternoon. It belongs to one of the Bicycle Outfitters riders (can't remember who). A $1000 reward is being offered for its return. Contact Randy Hendrix at Boneshakers at 770-222-2663 or Glenn at Bicycle Outfitters at 770-577-6200 if you have information leading to the recovery of the bike.

Description: Trek 5900 58 cm, 9 speed Dura Ace components, Rolf Siestre wheels, grey saddle, the back wheels is in desperate need of truing, Blue Maxxis Detonator tires. The bike is "nude carbon" color. The bike should not have a front wheel as that was not stolen.

More on 99X 99x apparently bashed cyclists further this morning. The complaints to management are working. This is from the AJC website: "Radio show nixed Tour sponsor Dodge pulled the plug on radio station 99X's planned live broadcast Sunday from the Healthy Georgia Expo. Listeners complained to Tour officials that on Friday morning's 99X show, the DJs advocated running cyclists off the road. "They understood that it was in our mutual best interests if they did not attend," Dodge spokesman Randy Jones said."

Nalley NRC Crit Now that Twilight and the Tour De Georgia are behind us, the Nalley HRC is this
coming Sunday in Roswell. Races start at 11:55 am with the pro men racing at 6:15 and the pro women at 3:50. Southeastern Cycling will be out there after 2 pm to cover the afternoon races.

Carmichael to Open Center in Atlanta  In an interview with Pez Cycling, Lance Armstrong's coach Chris Carmicheal said that he expects to open a CTS Performance Center in Atlanta in October. -Pez Cycling News

TdG Pics Someone has posted TdG photos on their web page. Sorry, I don't have a name. (I'm still working on mine. I'm about half way done resizing them. It will be the end of the week at least before they are up....lack of time as usual!)

Women's Ride and Clinic "Notes: WOMEN`S RIDE FOLLOWED BY WOMEN`S BIKE MAINTENANCE WORKSHOP: Since the time slot for the Women`s Maintenance Workshop has changed and the Ruta de Hall added on on May 1, I have changed the date and time for this ride to May 20. The plan is still to ride riverside followed by creekside and then we`ll all head out to Sherri`s for the workshop. If you`re a beginner and just want to ride riverside, that`s okay too. Details for the workshop are below. We still have 3 or 4 slots available: Subject: Finally, a Women`s Maintenance Workshop! For all the
ladies out there on this list: Have you ever been out on the trail with your boyfriend, spouse or SO and had a flat tire, a brake or cable problem or God forbid, broken your chain? And if that happened, did you think to yourself, "thank goodness `so and so` was here to help me fix it!" Well, what if `so and so` hadn`t been there??? Or worse - what if there was no one was there and you wound up pushing your bike for miles?
Do you really want to be that helpless? Rather than sending out individual emails, I`m surveying this group first to find out who would be interested in an evening of a hands-on bike maintenance workshop. This is a rare opportunity that is being offered to a small group of us MTB women to get your hands dirty and actually learn the "how to" of some very important bike repairs. This is a valuable workshop that will serve you well out there on the trails. Please email me as soon as possible to let me know if you`re interested in this. Space is limited and we will hopefully be setting this up in May. Thanks, Juliette"

11 Alive Positive Story on TdG  11 Alive had a nice story about the TdG as a follow up. It described how the tour brought in tourist revenue for the state, how it spread the word about cancer awareness, and stated that organizers estimated over 750,000 people watched the tour over 6 days. Send an email to them thanking them for the positive coverage!

Craig Lewis News Craig Lewis was the rider hurt in the TdG Time Trial when a car pulled out in front of him. His injuries are worse than first reported. He has fractures to his nose, right and left jaw, T 1 vertebrae, left scapula and shoulder blade, left wrist, 3 left and 1 right ribs, right knee and right wrist. He needs surgery on his jaw and left shoulder. His family hopes to have him home by the end of this week.

Outback Bikes is Hiring! Do you like bicycles? Want to work in a shop? Call Peter at Outback Bikes at 404-272-0276. He is seeking someone to help out in the shop. No experience is necessary. In Peter's words: "Outback Bikes is looking for a person to work in our retail store. Bike shop knowledge is cool but we can train the right person. Shop is located in Little 5 Points so if homeless people and tattoo's scare you probably not a good fit. 404-688-4878"

This is from the AJC's Peach Buzz:

"99X: A hit with bikers  After "Crash" Clark on 99X jokingly suggested that drivers edge cyclists off the road Friday, incensed local bikers inundated the radio station with e-mails and calls. "It angers me whenever people say it's OK to hurt somebody," said Lee Redfern, 36, an employee at Bicycle South in Decatur. "It's irresponsible." He said he's been hit by cars six times and knew three friends who died on the road. Host Fred Toucher said he instantly shut Clark down after he made that comment and does not advocate violence against cyclists. "I'm surprised by the flood of e-mails from people who have never heard the show, who heard this second- or third-hand," Toucher said. Still, show producer Gary "Wally" Wallace is not a fan of bikers who hog the streets. "They're a waste of flesh and spandex," he said. "Someone threatened to come down to the station with semiautomatics and shoot us. It's ridiculous."

Guys and gals...remember that a cool and level headed email will get further than an emotionally charged and irrational one. Now go write 99x!

Jauvan (L5 Flyers), Trish Albert, and Scott after the stage.

4-29-2004 Mario on Hogpen THIS you have to see! The video says it all. It is of Mario Cipollini (Domina) on Hogpen. No wonder the ladies love Italians!! -See Video (Trish's note: The video link worked Tuesday morning but does not appear to be working now--Tuesday night)

A Day in the Mavic Car On Sunday, I had the wonderful opportunity to ride in the Mavic Neutral Support car from Dawsonville to Alpharetta. SORBA Athens TT From SORBA-Athens: "I wanted to let everyone know that SORBA Athens will
be putting on a Time Trial event next Wednesday, May 5 at Oconee Heritage Park. This will be a competitive event where you try to post the best lap time at Heritage -- you will be racing against the clock, and the people with the fastest lap times in each category will win gift certificates to local restaurants. We will most likely have a beginner category and an experienced category (those who have raced Sport level or higher), with some time handicapping to try and even out the field. Some of you may have participated in last summer's Thursday Night Time Trials at the Ag Center in Gainesville, and this will be very similar, but it is not limited to SORBA members -- anyone is welcome to participate, so bring your friends. The entry fee for this event is $5 if you are not a current SORBA member, and $2 if you are a current member. You can renew your membership at the event if you like, or sign up for the first time. We'll also have a cooler and some food, so even if you don't want to participate in the time trial, you can come hang out and eat and drink with us as we time the riders. Since it's Cinco de Mayo, we'll definitely have some chips and salsa. The trials will begin at 6:00 PM and we will probably try to send the last rider out by 7 in order to get them back by dark. Helmets are required. The Athens chapter plans to host several of these events as the summer progresses, so if you miss this one, keep your eyes open for the next one."
