Atlanta Group Road Rides
These rides are put on by various organizations and bike shops. Some rides do
not have a leader and are "pick up rides." Always check with the ride leader, if
there is one, for a ride map. Call the ride leader or shop to verify that the
ride is still going on. Unless specified, these are hard training rides geared
towards advanced riders and racers and those that have group riding experience.
Aerobars are not allowed on group rides. If you have them, do NOT ride in them
in the group. Expect to be dropped and be on your own if you cannot keep up with
the group. If you want a more relaxed ride or are a beginner, the
Southern Bicycle League hosts rides for all levels of cyclists. Cycling is a
dangerous sport. Southeastern Cycling, Trish Albert, and the sponsoring ride
groups are not responsible if you get lost or hurt on these rides. You ride at
your own risk and assume all responsibility for yourself and your equipment. All
ride times give are Daylight Savings Time unless noted. Many rides stop after
Daylight Savings Time ends. Check with the sponsoring organization for specifics
about any rides.

2008-2009 Airport Ride Info. from Scott Hilburn ("Chisel"): Beginning
11/4 and continuing through the last Sunday in March 2009 the Airport Loop ride
will start at 10 AM from the Trinity Lofts area just off Peachtree on Trinity.
There are 43 and 63 mile options. Terrain is flat to slightly rolling with no
climbs. The ride rolls easy for the first 11 miles and stops for a nature break
as we take a left off 29. The 43/63 mile split is usually the point where the
speed will increase. The 63 mile option takes a left just over the
railroad tracks and will include one store stop in Palmetto before heading back
to ATL on 29. The 43 mile option stays straight with no store stop and will
eventually take a right back on to 29 for the ride home. This is a great ride
for newer riders and experienced age groupers and pros trying to build all
important Fall/Winter base miles for the 08 cycling/triathlon season and those
wanting to become more comfortable riding in close quarters of the peleton.
